Excellent exposure of the middle and upper Wood Canyon
formation and overlying Zabriskie Quartzite (early Paleozoic) in the Resting
Spring Range near Shoshone, California. Lithostratigraphic correlation
with other exposures in the Panamint Range above Death Valley are consistent
with large magnitude Neogene extension in the southern Basin and Range.
